The Parasoft License Server provides authentication and authorization for CTP users in addition to centrally managed licenses for Parasoft products. You only need to install License Server if both of the following conditions apply:
- User-based access controls are required in this CTP installation and associated SOAtest/Virtualize servers, and
- Parasoft DTP will not be deployed within the organization.
In addition, if you are using a local license and do not need user administration, you may not need to install License Server. If you do not have a local license or DTP, you can download License Server from the Parasoft customer portal (registration required), deploy it to your network, and use it to license CTP and other Parasoft tools.
License Server can either be installed as a self-deployed application or deployed to your own Tomcat server, including the Tomcat server running CTP. Refer to the Parasoft License Server documentation on https://docs.parasoft.com/ for installation, configuration, and usage.
