You can associate tests with work items stored in your application lifecycle management (ALM) or requirements management (RMS) system. In this chapter:

About Work Item Types 

Specify an artifact type to associate with the work item. Terminology across ALM/RMS systems vary, but the following types are supported by default:

  • @fr - Use this type to associate the tests with a feature request work item
  • @pr  - Use this type to associate the tests with a defect work item
  • @req  - Use this type to associate the tests with a requirement or user story work item
  • @task  - Use this type to associate the tests with a task work item
  • @test  - Use this type to associate the tests with a test work item 

Making New Associations

  1. Click on the test asset or test suite you want to associate the work item with. 
  2. Click the add button in the Work items section.
     
  3. Specify a work item type (see About Work Item Types) and the ID of the work item. Refer to your ALM/RMS to obtain the ID. By default, @req types are added, but you can click on the type field to change the requirement type. Work item URLs are optional.  

  4. Click the accept icon and Save your changes to the test asset.

Removing Associations

You can disable an association by click the trash icon.

Editing Associations

Click the edit icon to enable editing for an association. Make your changes and click the apply icon.
