This section provides an example of how to update the Virtualize Server for WebSphere. See WebSphere Example Deployment for new Virtualize Server installations.

  1. Copy the workspace folder from <SOAVIRT_HOME>/<SOAVIRT_WAR>.ear/<SOAVIRT_WAR> to a temporary location.
  2. Copy the config.properties file rom <SOAVIRT_HOME>/<SOAVIRT_WAR>.ear/<SOAVIRT_WAR>/WEB-INF directory to a temporary location.
  3. Log into the WebSphere administrative console: http://localhost:9060/ibm/console.
  4. Choose Applications> Application Types> WebSphere enterprise applications.
  5. Select <SOAVIRT_WAR> and click Stop.
  6. Select <SOAVIRT_WAR> and click Uninstall.
  7. Click OK. After uninstalling, click Save directly to the master configuration.
  8. Stop the server and delete the <SOAVIRT_HOME> directory.
  9. Start the server and install the new Virtualize Server WAR as described in WebSphere Example Deployment (steps 6-22).
  10. Copy the workspace folder you saved in step 1 to the <SOAVIRT_HOME>/<SOAVIRT_WAR>.ear/<SOAVIRT_WAR> directory. 
  11. Replace the config.properties file in <SOAVIRT_HOME>/<SOAVIRT_WAR>.ear/<SOAVIRT_WAR>/WEB-INF directory with the config.properties file from step 2.
  12. Open the config.properties files and verify the license configuration.
  13. Restart the server.
  14. Browse to http://localhost:8080/ (adjust the port if needed). One of following messages confirms that the application was updated correctly:

    No virtual asset or proxy found at this path: / 

    Enabled virtual assets:

    ...

    There are no deployments on this server. Cannot respond to this request: /.
