Currently the product ships with the automation user guide that provides information on how to use DTP Engine in command line mode. See DTP Engines for Java User Manual in [INSTALL_DIR]\manuals or download below:

it would be easier to use this if the 'here' link downloaded directly rather than taking me to a preview page

Thank you for your feedback. The previewer is intended to provide easy access to the Parasoft documentation without having to download the files. Most customers have found this functionality useful, but we understand that it may not be ideal for all use cases. We are exploring ways to optimize usability for all customers.
In the upcoming release, the Automaton User Guide will be available in webpage format. As before, a PDF version of the documentation will still ship with the product, but you will be able to browse the Automation User Guide content as you would any other online documentation.
