Ordinarily, DTP database creation process uses named files when creating tablespaces. Amazon RDS does not support this process, so it is necessary to create DTP tablespaces and a DTP user manually when your Oracle database is on Amazon RDS.

  1. Connect to Amazon Oracle using your Oracle client.
  2. Issue the following SQL commands to create DTP tablespaces:

    CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "DTP_TEMP";
    CREATE TABLESPACE "DTP_DATA";
    CREATE TABLESPACE "DTP_INDEX";
  3. Issue the following SQL commands to create DTP user:

    CREATE USER "DTP"  PROFILE "DEFAULT"
        IDENTIFIED BY "U%Cew2d6" DEFAULT TABLESPACE "DTP_DATA"
        TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "DTP_TEMP"
        QUOTA UNLIMITED
        ON "DTP_DATA"
        QUOTA UNLIMITED
        ON "DTP_INDEX"
        ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    GRANT ALTER ANY INDEX TO "DTP";
    GRANT ALTER ANY INDEXTYPE TO "DTP";
    GRANT ALTER ANY SEQUENCE TO "DTP";
    GRANT ALTER ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT ALTER ANY TRIGGER TO "DTP";
    GRANT ANALYZE ANY TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE ANY INDEX TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE ANY SEQUENCE TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE ANY SYNONYM TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE ANY TRIGGER TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE SEQUENCE TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE SESSION TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT CREATE TRIGGER TO "DTP";
    GRANT DELETE ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY INDEX TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY SEQUENCE TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY SQL PROFILE TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY SYNONYM TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT DROP ANY TRIGGER TO "DTP";
    GRANT INSERT ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT SELECT ANY SEQUENCE TO "DTP";
    GRANT SELECT ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
    GRANT UNLIMITED TABLESPACE TO "DTP";
    GRANT UPDATE ANY TABLE TO "DTP";
