Environment Manager
Capabilities
- Set and save environment "instances" where each of the AUT's dependent components is set to the state needed for a specific test scenario (e.g., a virtual API simulating network congestion and error responses + a real database + a virtual mainframe that's returning positive responses… )
- Provision environment instances on demand or automatically
- Record traffic that you want to simulate with service virtualization
- Monitor the "health" of real or virtual environment components
- Integrate API testing into the provisioning process
- Monitor server and asset events (request messages received, response messages sent, errors, and so forth)
- Access reports on recently-modified artifacts related to service virtualization (message proxies, JDBC controllers, test scenarios, etc)
- Review the scope of your service virtualization efforts over a specified time frame
Requirements
As long as CTP is installed and running, you should have immediate access to the Environment Manager capabilities appropriate for your account permissions. To enable configuration and provisioning of environments, the following must be configured in Environment Manager:
- At least one system definition
- At least one environment derived from a system definition
- At least one component instance defined within the environment you want to provision
Service Virtualization
Capabilities
- Create new virtual assets
- Modify and extend virtual assets created in CTP or Virtualize
- Check Virtualize server status and review the assets deployed on each server
- Review out of sync virtual assets and recently-modified artifacts related to service virtualization (message proxies, JDBC controllers, test scenarios, etc.)
- Monitor virtual asset hit statistics
Requirements
- At least one Parasoft Virtualize server installed, running, and connected to this CTP installation
- Any virtual assets that you want to use in CTP must be stored in the VirtualAssets project on the running server's active workspace
API Testing
Capabilities
- Create new tests and test scenario
- Modify and extend tests and test scenarios created in CTP or SOAtest
- Configure, execute, and review test jobs—with or without automatically provisioning the necessary test environment
- Configure test jobs to be executed automatically (e.g., via Jenkins)
- Perform ad hoc test execution as you're working on your tests
- Check SOAtest server status
Requirements
At least one Parasoft SOAtest server installed, running, and connected to this CTP installation
Any SOAtest test assets that you want to use in CTP must be stored in a TestAssets project on the running server's active workspace
Test Data Manager
Capabilities
- Review and manage data used for your service virtualization and API testing efforts
Requirements
- At least one Parasoft Data Repository server installed, running, and connected to this CTP installation
Marketplace
Capabilities
- Share assets within your organization and/or across the Parasoft community
Requirements
- No special configuration is required
