License Server Workflow
License Server is a module shipped with DTP that enables you to manage licenses for Parasoft products deployed to your network. Upload the product licenses you received from Parasoft to License Server. When a tool is configured to connect to DTP, License Server will provide a license if a token is available. You can restrict and allocate license tokens as necessary.
Choose License Server from the settings (gear icon) menu to access License Server.
Tool Licenses
The Tool Licenses screen shows the license tokens currently available and consumed by connect tools. You can add or remove licenses, as well as view details about the licenses currently installed.
Understanding License Information
The Tool Licenses screen shows the following information:
- Tools that are licensed
- License status
- License Server machine ID
- License expiration date
- Number of tokens permitted by the license
- Number of tokens currently available
You can use the search bar to find the license for a specific tool, as well as click on a column header to sort the table.
You can also click on a link in the Tool column to view details about the specific license for the tool. The License Details includes the features enabled with the license.
Adding Licenses
Starting with DTP 2021.1, two types of licenses are supported. The v1 license enables License Server to serve tokens to all Parasoft tools. This is the default license mode for all Parasoft tools and the process for adding it is described below. The v2 license (beta) enables License Server to serve license tokens to Parasoft tools version 2021.1 and later which are configured to use v2 licenses. The process for adding v2 licenses is described on the Using v2 Licenses page.
- Click Add License and choose Paste.
- Copy the license password string sent to you by your Parasoft representative into the field provided.
- Click Add when finished.
Removing Licenses
Click on the trash icon and confirm that you want to remove the license when prompted.
License Server Administration
You can access addition configuration options and administration settings by choosing License Server Administration from the Additional Settings menu.

- Choose Manage Licenses to access functionality for updating licenses served from License Server. See Managing Licenses.
- Choose License Summary for an overview of the license tokens that are currently being served to tools that have requested licenses. See Viewing License Statistics.

- Choose View Supported Tools to show which tools and version are supported by your installation.
