The Component Types screen lists the types of components that are available for you to use in your environments. Component types do not deliver functionality on their own–they are templates from which component instances can be created.

Component types includes a name, description, and thumbnail image.   

CTP includes several component types that are commonly represented in test environments, but you can create your own component types to match your requirements. See Adding Components to the Palette for instructions.

You can also modify existing component types, including the default types shipped with CTP.

Modifying Component Types

1. Click on a component type and choose Modify from the actions menu.
   
2. You can modify the name and/or description, as well as point to a new thumbnail image. By default, thumbnail images are stored in the <CTP_INSTALL>/images directory.
3. Click Save to apply your changes.
