Parasoft DTP and DTP Engines ship with a broad set of static analysis rules that can be used in your test configurations, but you can customize how the rules are applied in a rule map. Rule maps are stored in DTP and provide a way for you to:

• Change the basic properties of existing static analysis rules, such as name, severity, category, and ID.
• Add custom rules that have been previously prepared in Rule Wizard.

When rule maps have been defined, they can be associated with test configurations that are executed by the analysis tool.
