This release includes the following enhancements.

Release date: September 30, 2026

  • CTP users who also use DTP should upgrade both at the same time to avoid compatibility issues with cumulative builds and test impact analysis. Also note that corresponding projects in DTP need to have incremental builds enabled in DTP Report Center Settings.
  • The embedded MongoDB data repository server has been deprecated. You can use your own MongoDB installation on your local device if you want to run a local data repository server.
  • Support for Tomcat 10.1 has ended. CTP and the SOAtest and Virtualize WAR deployment require Tomcat 11.
  • Support for Java 17 is deprecated. The Virtualize WAR deployment requires Java 21, as do several key functionalities in CTP.

See Breaking Changes below for more details.

MCP

Tools

Added MCP tools to:

  • Create, modify, and delete test scenarios
  • Create, modify, and delete tests
  • Make HTTP requests
  • Create, modify, and delete data sources
  • Create stateful and stateless virtual services and assets

Using Parasoft Tools as an MCP Server

Skills

Added MCP skills to:

  • Execute test scenarios, including the ability to get authentication tokens when needed
  • Guide the creation of test scenarios
  • Upload files from a local machine to a Virtualize server when needed
  • Create stateful and stateless virtual services

MCP Skills

Instruction Files

SOAtest and Virtualize now include instruction files in the workspace for LLMs using the MCP tools.

Using Parasoft Tools as an MCP Server

Security

Configured MCP tools to automatically detect and use available Smart Test Templates when authentication is required, protecting credentials from the LLM.

Breaking Changes

  • The embedded MongoDB data repository server has been deprecated. You can use your own MongoDB installation on your local device if you want to run a local data repository server.
    • Important: If you have data in an embedded data repository that you want to keep, you should export it before upgrading. You can do this on a repository-by-repository basis (see Exporting and Importing Repositories) or you can copy the entire embedded server to another one (see Migrating a Data Repository Server to a MongoDB Server).
    • Note that you can still migrate data from an embedded server after you've upgraded. To do so, run your previous version of SOAtest/Virtualize and export/migrate it as suggested above.
  • Support for Tomcat 10.1 has ended. CTP and the SOAtest and Virtualize WAR deployment require Tomcat 11.
  • Support for Java 17 is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. The Virtualize WAR and some key functions in CTP require Java 21 now, however. If you are using either of those products, you should upgrade to Java 21.

Additional Updates

  • SOAtest and Virtualize desktop is now shipped with Tomcat 11.
  • GitHub Copilot now comes installed in SOAtest and Virtualize.
  • You can now configure the performance settings for a message responder using the REST API.

  • You can now disconnect all event monitoring clients for a virtual server from Virtualize desktop or CTP, allowing you to free up resources that might be affecting the virtual server's performance. See Monitoring Parasoft Virtualize Server Events (Virtualize desktop) or Starting/Stopping All Event Monitoring for a Virtualize Server (CTP) for more information.

  • Testing MQ or JMS connections on a virtual server, asset, or proxy will validate settings based on the location of the connection. For remote virtual assets or servers, the test will run on the remote server.
  • Added client certificates for 2-way SSL in the gRPC transport and listener.
  • Apache Avro Client can now access a Schema Registry that requires authentication.
  • You can now add a Key Store as a resource to a Smart Test Template. Creating Smart Test Templates.
  • The Diff tool can now resolve ${} variables in external control files, so now you can diff against expected dynamic data without having to save the control source in the internal editor. Diff Tool.
  • Failovers (HTTP connections in a message proxy that needed to resort to the secondary connection because the first one failed) now included in Virtualize server statistics in Virtualize and CTP. Virtualize: Remote Dedicated Virtualize Server and Local Virtualize Server. CTP: Monitoring Virtualize Server Usage Statistics.
  • CTP users can now publish test data from non-Parasoft testing frameworks using the REST API. There are some Java libraries that integrate the CTP coverage workflow with common testing frameworks available at https://github.com/parasoft/coverage-integration. Connecting CTP to Coverage Agents.
