To configure a real endpoint (i.e., an actual database, service, application, etc.—not a virtual asset):

In the Components wizard area (or the Real Endpoint area of the Instance editor), specify the real component’s actual endpoint.

Do not select a virtual asset if you are configuring a real endpoint for this component instance.

Note that provisioning a component instance with a real endpoint will disable virtual assets deployed by other instances.
