This section introduces the Browse tool, which sends a file or tool output to a Web browser. The Browse tool is not supported in Mac environments.

Understanding Browse

The Browse tool’s primary use is to send the designated file or tool output to a browser. When run, this tool will open a new browser window using the system default browser or another browser of your choosing.

You can use Browse as a stand-alone tool, or you can use it as a tool output.

Customizing Browse

You can customize the following options for this tool:

• Browser: Determines the browser used. Enable the browser to which you would like output to be directed.
• Command: Determines the browser command used. If you selected Automatic for your browser, then you will not need to supply information here. If you selected a specific browser, this information is filled in for you, but you may edit it. If you selected Other, then you must supply the Executable as well as the Arguments associated with the browser that you wish to use.

• Use DDE: Determines whether or not Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) lets programs share information. If you enable Use DDE, the changes you make to files will automatically be applied to other programs that use those same files. Use DDE is enabled by default and may not be disabled if the Automatic option is selected in the Browser field. It is enabled by default but may be disabled for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. When Other is selected in the Browser field, Use DDE is disabled by default and may not be enabled.
