Tool License tokens for floating and named user licenses are assigned to users and machines according to their system usernames (that is, granted to usernames. License Server recognizes two kinds of usernames:

  • OS username: the username on the OS of the machine on which Parasoft Tool is running.
  • Login username: the username used to authenticate with DTP.

In OIDC mode, the license token is always granted to the OIDC login username. In non-OIDC mode, License Server grants license tokens to OS username by default. The behavior can be changed to grant license tokens to login username by changing the setting). Even though some tools might allow you to change your username associated with it, the system username is always the one used when assigning licenses.
