Tool Licenses

The Tool Licenses screen shows the license tokens currently available and consumed by connect tools. You can add or remove licenses, as well as view details about the licenses currently installed.

Understanding License Information

Starting with DTP 2021.1, two types of licenses are supported. The v1 license enables License Server to serve tokens to all Parasoft tools. This is the default license mode for all Parasoft tools and the process for adding it is described below. The v2 license (beta) enables License Server to serve license tokens to Parasoft tools version 2021.1 and later which are configured to use v2 licenses. The process for adding v2 licenses is described on the Using v2 Licenses page.

  1. Click Add License and and choose either Paste or Upload when prompted.

    The Paste option is for adding v1 licenses. Copy the license password string sent to you by your Parasoft representative into the field provided. The Upload option is for adding v2 licenses.
  3. Click Browse and navigate to the license file sent to you by your Parasoft representative. Click Add when finished.

Removing Licenses

Click on the trash icon and confirm that you want to remove the license when prompted. 

Server License

The Server License screen is an interface for adding a v2 License Server license (beta).

You do not need to configure the settings on this screen if the tools requesting licenses are using the default v1 license (also see Adding Licenses).

You can either connect to a remote instance of License Server to obtain a license or use a local license file.

Configuring a Remote License

  1. Specify the hostname, port, context path (if applicable), and user credentials in fields provided.
  2. Click Test Connection to validate the fields were entered correctly.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring a Local License

Contact your Parasoft representative to obtain a local license file.
